LED Social Economy

visual 9 - sociale economie-conv

Social economy is increasingly recognised because of its double social importance.  On the one hand, it significantly contributes to the integration of underprivileged groups in the labour market. On the other hand, its range of goods and services meets the needs and requirements that are (currently) not or unsufficiently addressed by the market sector and the government.

Although social economy is a relatively young sector, it is already booming. The Social Economy LED wants to contribute to the development of expertise and innovation in this sector. This development of expertise concerns social and business economics aspects of the social economy, innovative labour organization, quality of labour in this sector, new niche markets in the care sector and other sectors, and the alignment between care and work.

Within this scope the LED works closely together with the companies and organizations in the field and various  faculties (social work, multimedia and communication, marketing etc.) and offers tailored services.
This LED is supported by the Social Work programmes at KATHO and HOWEST.
