LED Product development

Nowadays the markets are changing rapidly, which requires companies to renew their products constantly, to be highly innovative, to deploy new technologies and to approach their product development strategically. Companies have to deal with competitors from low-wage countries or have to relocate part of their production there in order to be able to cope. Knowledge of materials, techniques, ecodesign, innovation methodology and new sectors is becoming increasingly indispensable.

A lot of small self-creating companies will need extra knowledge and expertise in order to keep on operating on these markets in a successful way. With this LED we want to offer the necessary support to the sector in order to back them up during this speedy evolution. With the Howest Industrial Design Centre we want to guide companies with regards to their product development and industrial design, both by means of consultation and advice as well as by offering prototyping and design expertise hands-on. In this way we think that we can help companies to materialize new products.

Offering access to our state-of-the-art infrastructure and expertise in an approachable way and creating new possibilities with regards to design in small, self-creating companies, is part of the mission of this LED.
