LED E-Culture

visual 12 - E-cultuur-conv

The way in which we make, spread, retain and participate in culture has substantially changed under the influence of the present-day information and communication technology.

These new or digital media (computer, internet, mobile phones, video games, virtual reality etc.) can be used to speed up the existing working methods and to make them more efficient. They can and will also lead to real innovations with regards to the culture spread and culture participation (new exchange forms, interactivity between provider and user, cross-disciplinary cooperation etc.). This is what we call ‘e-culture’.

Although it seems that the (economic) possibilities and challenges with regards to this are infinite, we have to say that there are a lot of culture actors that have not switched over to this new paradigm in the making just yet. The LED e-culture wants to guide and support those actors during the transition.
