West-Flanders is a border region with close neighbours such as Northern France (the Région Nord-Pas de Calais) and the Walloon provinces of Belgium (Province of Hainot and further). 1) Technéo:
Technéo is a French national database in which knowledge and research institutes with scientific and technological competences have been recorded; both public and semi-public institutions as well as private organizations. It concerns laboratories and research institutes that work together with universities or colleges, autonomous agencies etc.
2) Innovation in the heart of Europe
As part of the INTERREG IVA project “Innovation in the heart of Europe” a database was built in which the technological knowledge and know-how in the regions Northern France and West-Flanders is recorded.
The French region Nord-Pas de Calais and the Belgian province of West-Flanders are located in the heart of Europe and have a large innovation potential. These regions, which can rely on a substantial amount of – both big and small – innovative businesses and renowned knowledge centres, have decided to cooperate in order to attract more attention to innovations that originated here and in order to use and develop them. This is the main objective of the cross-border cooperation project INTERREG IVA, "Innovation in the heart of Europe". Partners of the project are Voka West-Vlaanderen (Chamber of Commerce of West-Flanders), Innovatiecentrum West-Vlaanderen (Innovation Centre West-Flanders) and J'innove in Nord-Pas de Calais.
3) CampusFrance
CampusFrance is an agency that wants to stimulate the internationalization of the higher education in France. On this website you can find extensive information about the French institutes for higher education and the research units and laboratories that cooperate with them.
4) Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique
The Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) is the national institute which is responsible for scientific research and the valorization of the research results in France. On the website of the institute a database is available of all the research units connected to the CNRS.
5) Interface ADISIF-Entreprises
The Interface ADISIF-Entreprises supports the research units that cooperate with the Walloon colleges of technology. The network of ADISIF includes 11 colleges and 13 pluridisciplinary research centres. The data of these institutions are collected in a database and can be consulted.
